| Cedric Simmons and Torin Francis worked out side-by-side for more than an hour Friday morning at the Sports Authority Training Center in Waltham. Roughly the same height and weight, pursuing the same goal of making a positive impression on an NBA team before the June 28 draft, the pair of power forwards have a lot in common. In one major way, however, the pair is a study in contrast. Francis, a Boston native who attended Boston Latin and Tabor Academy, played three years at Notre Dame before declaring for the NBA draft last spring. He went through the draft-camp process, but resisted hiring an agent so he could leave open the possibility of returning to school. After carefully considering the feedback he was getting from teams, he pulled his name out of the draft just days before the deadline to retain eligibility. [More...] source: metro west daily
