WALTHAM -- First came the free agents for a 90-minute scrimmage, then came a handful of Celtics for a half hour of informal workouts, then remained Al Jefferson as the only player left on the Sports Authority Training Center parquet.

Long after the court had cleared yesterday, Jefferson was still going through shooting drills with assistant coaches Clifford Ray and Dave Wohl. Jump shots, bank shots, drives to the basket. Left side of the key, right side of the key. Two feet from the rim when he started at 12:30 p.m. Out as far as the top of the key when he was still going strong an hour later.[More]

I knew he was working hard this offseason, but what's he's doing is way more than I thought he would be doing. Z don't know if Perkins the work-o-holic works out this hard.

Al needs to play tougher. Not that he avoids contact, but he certainly does not initiate contact that much. He needs more power to his game.
